Gate Check Report – Brookfield Renewables

Information about the current proposal, including access to relevant documentation, can be obtained readily from the ECU website:

go to http://www.energyconsents.scot/ApplicationDetails.aspx
click “Search”
click “Simple Search”
fill in project name (Bachan Burn)
click on the ECU Ref. No. ECU00000240
click on “Documents” to access 12 available documents

All projects are required to produce a “Gate Check Report” which covers a range of specified topics. The “Gate Check Report” of Nov. 2016 was prepared by consultants hired by and wholly answerable to Brookfield Renewables, and although there is some basic information in the document there is nothing “independent” or “objective” about it. Useful information is to be found in the “Consultation Responses” from the statutory consultees who were asked to provide comments on the submitted “Gate Check Report”. The comments from Scottish Natural Heritage, for example, are critical and sceptical – and well-founded. For the full report click the link below.
